Everyone is not unfamiliar with fused zirconium corundum bricks (Fused Cast Azs Block) and fused corundum bricks, however, due to their different compositions, some people cannot tell the difference between them.Today we will mainly different 2 kinds of fused bricks —— fused zirconium corundum bricks (Fused Cast Azs Block) and fused corundum bricks.

1. Fused zirconium corundum brick (Fused Cast Azs Block) Fused cast AZS brick is also called fused zirconium corundum brick, because it contains Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2, abbreviated as AZS. According to the different content of zirconia from 33%-41%, the molten cast AZS block can be divided into three types AZS-33#, AZS-36# and AZS-41#. Fused zirconia corundum bricks (Fused Cast Azs Block) are made of pure alumina powder and zirconium sand (composed of 65% zirconia and 34% silica). The bulk density is between 3.4~4.0g/cm3, the porosity is among 1%~10%, and the maximum use temperature is about 1700℃. Fused zirconium corundum brick 33# is mainly used in relatively low temperature and corrosive parts of glass melting furnaces such as working end, supply channel, etc.It can only be used for straight bricks and parts of the recommended ones to be used, which are resistant to corrosion and high temperature, such as sidewalls, paving, dog kennels, etc. Fused zirconium corundum brick 41# is especially suitable for glass melting furnaces Severely corroded parts, bottom, dam block, four corners of electric block, and can also be used in side walls.
2. Fused Corundum Brick Fused corundum brick is also known as it is mainly composed of alumina, its content is more than 94% fused cast alpha-beta block, it is produced by melting and casting high-purity alumina in an electric furnace at 2000 ℃, alpha-beta fused corundum The brick is formed during its crystallization stage when alpha alumina and beta alumina – bond. This process leads directly to the formation of a dense structure, so this block has good resistance to strong alkaline. At 1350°C, it has strong corrosion resistance and hardly contaminates the glass melt. Because it does not contain impurities such as Fe2O3 and titanium dioxide, when it comes into contact with the glass liquid, bubbles are rarely found. Therefore, the product has the property of reducing the contamination of the molten glass. With excellent performance, molten cast alumina block TY-M (α-β block) is mainly used as ideal refractory supply channel, nozzle and working end of glass melting furnace.
These two kinds of fused brick products, although there are similarities, they belong to different types of products, and they are essentially different in content. As long as you know them, you can use them correctly.
